This Summer, the digital market will taste a little sweeter. Image Comics joins an exciting new digital platform.

Last month, The Beat reported on the launching of a new digital comics app called Sweet Shop, and we've been eager to learn more ever since. Today, we received a press release from Image Comics announcing their partnership with Sweet Shop and explaining how we can expect to see their titles on the platform when it officially launches this Summer. We're more than intrigued now; we're excited.
We've been friends with Sweet owner Kenny Myers since the early days of Omnibus, our one-time podcast sponsor. He's a passionate fan of the medium and a firm believer in a relationship between the digital market and brick-and-mortar businesses. If you listen to this week's Off Panel podcast, hosted by David Harper, you'll hear how Myers sees these entities working in collaboration, not opposition. We certainly think it's possible.
Navigating the digital space for comics these last few years has been tumultuous, and it need not be so. Sweet Shop will support vertical scrolling functions as well as right-to-left and left-to-right reading, depending on what's called for by the comic. They're embracing Manga, webcomics, young adult, and all-ages in addition to traditional Wednesday warrior faire. Oh, and day-and-date purchasing is a top priority, which is not the case for many other alternatives.
